NPP Power certificates
LiFePO4 battery cycle life is 10 times longer than VRLA battery. Even when charging and complete discharge LiFePO4 batteries once every day, LiFePO4 technology offers 8 to 15 years of life. NPP Power advanced LiFePO4 technology can give you 3000 complete charge and discharge cycles at 80% Depth of Discharge. once 3000 cycles, you still have around 80% of usable energy left.
NPP Lithium batteries are commonly used in UPS Backup, Marine, Telecom, Electric vehicles, Golf Cart applications, Outdoor power supply, PV energy storage, etc. In recent years, along with the lithium battery technology is more and more mature, the market for nickel metal hydride batteries, lithium batteries, zinc manganese dry batteries, alkaline zinc manganese dry batteries, zinc, silver, zinc, mercury batteries, nickel-cadmium battery and more than 10 kinds of batteries, they all have their own advantages and disadvantages, but the cost of raw material, battery, battery technology and so on a variety of reasons, the current mainstream by application of the battery, There are only lead-acid batteries and lithium batteries. Lithium batteries are also beginning to replace lead-acid batteries.
LiFePO4 batteries are durable and safe. Built-in BMS(Battery Manager System) safety features prevent the LiFePO4 battery from overheating, shutting it down when temperatures go too high. And we only use the A-grade lithium batteries which have passed the Nail Penetration Test.
LiFePO4 batteries are easy to recycle, Lithium batteries have little impact on the environment. No matter in production, use, or scrap, they do not contain or produce any toxic and harmful heavy metal elements and substances such as Lead, Mercury, and Cadmium. In the meantime, the huge market makes the LiFePO4 battery recycling industry become common.
A battery that use Lithium metal or lithium alloy as positive pole or negative pole. Lithium batteries were used in cardiac pacemakers in the early. It’s low self-discharge rate (storage time long up to 10 years) and gentle discharge voltage, it makes the pacemaker implanted in the human body and can be operated for a long time without recharging. Lithium batteries generally have a nominal voltage of higher than 3.0 volts, more suitable for integrated circuit power supply. Lithium batteries are widely used in calculators, digital cameras, and watches.
The lithium compound is used as the battery material for the electrode, materials containing lithium elements is used as electrolyte (always is LiPF6), such as 3.2V LiFePO4, 3.6V LiNiCoMnO2, 2.4V LiTiO2, 3.7V LiCoO2, all are lithium-ion battery.
When working (using), the battery will be charged or discharged, one time discharge, then charge after the discharge, we call it’s one cycle. After many times discharge and charge, the retention capacity will be less and less, when it can keep 80% or initial capacity, we say the life is over, the cycle times is called cycle life.
When discharge, some energy/capacity will be released from the battery, the energy discharging-ratio is called DOD, e.g depth of discharge, for example, a full charged 100Ah battery is discharged 20Ah capacity, we say the DOD is 20%, if discharged 80% capacity, we call it 80% DOD, if all 100Ah capacity is discharged, we call it 100% DOD or full discharge.
A cell that is not be used in any method is called original cell, also it can be called new cell, virgin cell.
A cell is removed from inside the machine and reassembled to use in another device is called repurposing cell, also it can be called old cell, used cell and second hand cell.
The cells that have no metal/aluminum alloy shell are called soft cells. It’s always used for laptop, electric watch, mobile cell, electric vehicles and so on.
A battery that assembled with lithium cells and without hard ABS container or metal shell is called bared lithium battery. It is usually wrapped in a large heat shrink tube/band.
EOL is the short of End Of Life. It’s a definition of the cell retention capacity ratio compared with the initial capacity. E.g EOL 80% for a new cell with 100Ah initial capacity, after 3000 cycles, the retention capacity is less than 80Ah, we cay the life is over, if the retention capacity is >=80Ah after 3000 cycles, we say the cell life is not over.
It’s a guide voltage for the devices (e.g inverter, ups….) to stop discharging when the battery voltage drops to a specified value during the discharging period. E.g for a 12V LiFePO4 battery, the COV (cut off voltage) is 11.2V.
It’s a specified voltage that for BMS to cut off the discharging when the battery voltage drops lower than some value during the discharging period. E.g for a 12V LiFePO4 battery, the protection voltage is 10.8V. It’s also called over-discharge-protection voltage or under voltage protection voltage.
Battery management system and Battery monitoring system, both are called BMS.
Battery management system is used to manage the cells, protect the cells from over-discharge, over-charge, over current, short circuit, high temperature, low temperature.
Battery monitoring system is used to show the cells/battery information, such as cells voltage, battery voltage, and capacity, and temperature, current, discharge/charge status, protection information and so on. Some battery monitoring system even supports the controlling or remote controlling the battery management system from WiFi, 4G, Bluetooth, zigbee and so on.
A cell with round shapes, like 18650, 21700, 26650, 32650, 321350 cells.
A cell with cube shapes, like the famous brand BYD, CATL, they supply cube cells for electric vehicles.
The management function is carried out by some special designed logic chip. The parameters can not be revised, no communication function, unset able.
The management function is carried out by programmable MCU; the parameters can be revised easily. It can communicate with other device from RS485, RS232 ports, like inverter, ups, computer, mobile cell, battery monitoring system and so on.
Lithium battery standard is 5 hours rate. E.g a 100Ah battery, discharge with 0.2CA current (0.2 x 100 =20A) and the discharge time is not less than 5 hours when the voltage drops to 11.8V. We call the battery capacity is 100Ah (20A x 5 hours = 100Amp hour).
The battery is charged with a small current (less than 0.2CA) is called standard charge; the charge current between 0.2CA to 0.5CA is called quick charge; the charge current between 1CA to 2CA is called supper quick charge. E.g a 100Ah battery, the standard charge current is 20a, battery can be full charged in 5.5 hours; the quick charge current is from 20A to 50A, battery can be full charged in 2.5 hours; the supper quick charge current is from 100A to 200A, the battery can be full charged in 1.3 hours.
